Here’s the weekly news sheet and calendar of events at church for the coming week:

Weekly News Sheet Sunday 23rd April

Calendar of activities at St. Luke’s week beginning Monday 24th April

The St. Luke’s Environment Action Group Partnered with Rotary to undertake a litter survey at the Dell in Clifton Springs on Earth Day, Saturday the 22nd of April and the GOOD NEWS is that we found very little rubbish compared to other years.   Thanks to Claire Zeigler for the hard work getting this organised and thanks to Rotary for the yummy BBQ.

Earth Day Activity & BBQ

Help us understand where our little comes from so that we can stop creating it!

Highton Rotary, St Luke’s Environment Group, Clifton Springs, Curlewis Coastcare invite you to join us for a litter survey followed by a famous Rotary BBQ.

When: 22 April 10am

What: Earth Day Activity and BBQ

Where: The Dell, Clifton Springs

What to bring – gloves, sunhat and suncream, warm top (just in case), bag or bucket, $2.50 for BBQ and a water bottle.

We will take a survey of the litter we find at The Dell and send our findings to the Port Phillip Eco Centre who will add this to their data base from all around Port Phillip Bay.

A proactive approach will be taken by finding out where the rubbish comes from and taking action:

We will divide into 3 teams measure and mark 3 areas on the beach.

We will then pick up all the rubbish in the 3 areas, then lay it out on 3 separate tarps.

Lastly we will count all the different types of rubbish and record it on the survey sheet and send the results to the Eco Centre.
